Houston Chevrolet Tahoe

Q: Does anybody here have the Houston Chevrolet Tahoe? What’s it like?

A: Me and my family are campers, which was the main reason we chose the Houston Chevrolet Tahoe. There could be some more space in the third row, and that might be necessary when the kids get a little older and their legs grow longer, but it has excellent capability when it comes to towing, so we’re able to fill up our camper on the weekend, hitch it to the back of the car, and go wherever the road takes us.

It’s great space wise because you can fit around nine people in it, and we always take my kids’ friends with us everywhere. We have to put everything in the camper when we travel, though, because there isn’t enough storage space in the third row seat. You can’t fold it down like in most large SUVs, and instead you have to take it out, which we can’t do because part of the time we have people sitting there, which is frustrating.

We have the LS, which comes with

  • satellite radio
  • Onstar telematics
  • dual zone climate control

We also added the options for the DVD entertainment center and heated second seats. This is all a lot of help when you have a lot of kids on the road and you need to keep them distracted. The satellite radio has all kinds of music, and they get to put in their movies when they want.

But let’s get to the real important part…the power. My Houston Chevrolet Tahoe LS has a V8 4.8 liter engine. The horsepower is 295 with 305 pound feet of torque. It doesn’t do so well on fuel and we have to stop and fill up quite a bit when we go on trips. I think it’s around fourteen miles per gallon.
