2009 Chevrolet Cobalt Texas TX
Reader’s Question:
Is the Cobalt another boring compact? What can you tell me about it? Is it worth driving in Texas?
Carlito
Houston, TX
Hello to you, Carlito of Houston, Texas! Are you gonna go your way to your nearest Houston Chevrolet dealer? Well, we all know that Chevrolet loves churning out these cars to compete against, most likely, Japanese-designed cars. The selling point of these kinds of cars would be the advantageous fuel economy the owner can get. So, if you are thinking of an exciting and fun automobile to drive…Well, I will leave it you to decide. Don’t get me wrong with that statement, I hate spoiling the fun for anyone. Looking from afar, that Rally Yellow on the SS coupe looks pretty exciting to me. But that’s just me.
What options are available for you if you get enamored by the looks of the 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt? Okay, engine-wise, gone are the 1.6 liters from previous years of the Cobalt. For this year model, expect a zippier 2.0 liter 260 hp engine on, let me clear my throat first, the Turbo SS Coupe/Sedan Cobalt. I’m pretty sure that isn’t what you were expecting on something that supposed to do 30 on the highway. For the more standard trims, you get a 2.2 liter ECOTEC that generates 155 hp of power and can do 37 mpg on your highway. I think I’ll call the Cobalt “mini-muscle.”
How Nice Is The New Chevrolet Tahoe SUV
Reader’s Question:
My friend drove over to my place here in Texas. Although I haven’t seen him ages, it kind of got repetitive after he kept talking about how great his new Chevrolet Tahoe was. From the outside, it looked like any other SUV that I see daily. I’m wondering what his big fuss was all about. What else is onboard aside from that, I’m assuming, monster engine?
Franz
Houston, TX
Hey there, Franz. That was a funny story there. I guess your friend there in Texas just kept on going and going and going like, “My Tahoe is so neat, blah, blah, blah.” I would have been mildly irritated also. But, looking at the Chevrolet Tahoe, your friend does argue a strong case. The 5.3 L V8 does pack a wallop. The Chevrolet Tahoe is packed with a lot of features that, I think, could surpass your expectations. Even that “monster engine” might surprise you.
Okay, the “monster engine,” in itself, is not your run-off-the-mill gas guzzler. It actually has a heart that beats for you. Chevrolet’s magical engineers figured out that there could be a good system to help out with fuel economy. Never mind if it’s 20 miles per gallon on the highway, this thing’s a gas-powered SUV. So what if they figured a way to shut-off some cylinders while the Tahoe is in use? Would not that be great? So there, they actually did find a way to that. Chevrolet put in a computer to run the 5.3 Liter Vortec V8 engine. They call the system Active Fuel Management. What it does is when the Tahoe is on the road with you (of course, who else should it be with?) and you are not really pushing it to its limits, the computer tells the engine to minimize the number of cylinders in use. It can go from 8 cylinders to just 4 cylinders. I think I am ready to say, “Wow.” 4 cylinders in use on an SUV? That should be your big fuss, Franz.

What is The Ride Like In a Chevrolet Suburban
Reader’s Question:
The Chevy Suburban seems to be daunting vehicle to drive with its large size. However, does anyone think here that I can rule the Texas roads if I drive this vehicle?
Rob
Houston, TX
Hey there, Rob. The Chevrolet Suburban is indeed daunting as an SUV and imposes itself on traffic like a truck with an attitude. For some reason, whenever I see this car, I always imagine flashing lights in the movies and men in dark suits with dark glasses on. See the picture as I do? I think if that’s your scene, so to speak, then this is the SUV for someone like you. Seriously, the Suburban has been around for a very long time already and has served America well. In my opinion, appearance does matter, but I think that you should also try to see beyond the “look” of the Suburban.
Just to let you know, the 2009 Suburban comes to us in four models. They vary mainly on the type of engine that goes with them. You can talk to the dealer what different options and accessories you can put on your Suburban of choice. The models you can choose from are the three powered by the 5.3 liter V8 Vortecs engine, namely the Half-Ton LT, Half-Ton LTZ, Half-Ton LS, and the 6.0 Liter engine model, Three-Quarter-Ton LS
So, rule the roads in Houston? The key things to remember about the Chevrolet Suburban are space and power. It can fit in 7 to 9 people, so that pretty much describes how much cargo or even speakers you can squeeze inside. It can haul more than 9,000 pounds effortlessly, specially with the 6.0 Liter V8 engine on the Three-Quarter-Ton LS. I don’t want to think of this truck as a sports car, so I won’t delve much into acceleration, but of course it won’t hurt mentioning that this big car/truck can hit 60 miles per hour under 9 seconds. In terms of handling, I think the Suburban can eat up just about any road you put it on. Overall, as far as ruling the roads is concerned, I do think the Suburban’s features will help you rule quite effectively.

Is a Chevrolet Trailblazer A Good SUV To Buy
Reader’s Question:
My wife had been telling me that I should get an SUV. I’m not really a big fan of big, big cars since there’s just me and my wife in the family and our baby boy. I’m wondering what kind of Chevrolet SUV should I choose for a drive around Texas?
Richard
Houston, TX
Well, Richard, there are some great points to owning an SUV. You get more cargo and comfort space, and the confidence to hit any road you desire. However, there are those thinkers like you that require a bit of reassurance and prodding on why they should own an SUV. What’s good about your question is at least you know what you want out of this exercise. That’ll make it easy enough for us before you go to your Houston Chevrolet Dealer. So we’ll pick out an SUV for you. Something that looks better than the ones in the humongous, monstrous-size category but packs the genes of an SUV, I’ll recommend the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
You’re wondering why I picked out a Trailblazer for you. In terms of the space you require, there’s just three of you in the family, so you won’t go wrong with this car because it can comfortably seat 5 and with ample cargo space at the back, too. The Trailblazer comes in two trims, the LT, with its 4.2 Liter engine, comes in three variants and the SS goes solo with its 6.0 Liter model. In terms of bringing gear along, the Trailblazer can haul up to 6,800 pounds and that should be enough to take care of your needs. Whether you want to take the family on a cross-country trip or just go camping, the Trailblazer will work for you.

2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LT2 2WD
Reader’s Question:
My wife and I finally decided to get an SUV. With the kids getting bigger, our needs have definitely changed. I’d like to get an SUV with enough “horses” to pull my family wherever I take them. What can you recommend? Oh, I forgot to mention, as a dad, I’d like “SAFETY” to be my first concern in getting my very first Chevy SUV. One can’t be too sure of what we might encounter in Houston, Texas streets.
Rick
Houston, TX
Well, Rick, I’m a family man in Houston myself and can I just say that you’ve made a great choice in choosing an SUV as your next vehicle acquisition. Try stuffing the kids and wife in a compact and you’ll see what I mean by “great choice.” Anyway, I agree with you 100% on SAFETY being THE priority. I’d like to think that Chevrolet has the horses packed under the hood well enough. For safety, Chevrolet even has the OnStar system to give us owners a worry-free ride.
Personally, I stayed away from the eye candy and looked at a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LT2 2WD. It’s got enough room to comfortably get my family from point to point, with all their stuff on board. It can seat about 8 people, and carry more than 1800 pounds of load with its 5.3L V8 engine. For family safety, I love the standard safety features like the side guard door beams, 3-point center seat belt, and child safety locks. And as a bonus, there’s also a vehicle anti-theft system. For me, the 2009 Tahoe is a practical choice and will serve my family well on these, as you say, Houston, Texas streets.

Houston Chevrolet Car
Reader’s Question:
I need a Knapp Houston Chevrolet car. Is there a good deal on it?
Diana
Houston, TX
I saw an ad from Knapp Houston Chevrolet regarding an offer for zero percent funding, also because I wanted a car, I went to Knapp Houston Chevrolet branch really quickly. They proceeded with the credit check on me and they asked me to wait in the small area space for approximately forty five minutes, plus when the Knapp Houston Chevrolet sales person came back, he said they had permitted me for a car loan with a 2.89% APR. I was shocked.
As a result, you need to almost have a perfect credit to obtain the 0% financing contract from Knapp Houston Chevrolet or wherever else, thus be cautious prior to you hitting the road following of you seeing a commercial like that. The Knapp Houston Chevrolet staff was very courteous, even though, and they were able to get me a discount as an alternative of the zero percent financing.

Chevrolet Truck Houston
Reader’s Question:
How much is a Chevrolet truck in Houston Texas?
Cherry
Houston, TX
There is not anything sweeter than having a discovery of a Houston Chevrolet truck, for instance the 2008 Silverado 3500HD at a very attractive truck value. The recent retail selling price for the Houston Chevrolet truck is approximately $24,000 or slightly higher, however I was able to make do and obtain it for just twenty thousand dollars and I am really feel good of myself for my bargaining skills and my Houston Chevrolet truck hounding skills.
That entire thing put aside, the Houston Chevrolet Truck Silverado 3500HD has also done nothing other than agreeably astonish me over again ever since I purchased it. The exterior of the Houston Chevrolet Truck Silverado 3500HD is unbelievable, physically powerful and ingenious, with a facade intensely designed that will give pleasure to any Houston Chevrolet truck extremist. I tow farm animals, so I know how to inform you that my Houston Chevrolet truck does so with no injury. It is physically powerful, it is dominant, it is comfy and it is the quintessence of a Houston Chevrolet truck.

Reader’s Question:
What can you say about the Chevrolet Courtesy? Is it any good in Houston Texas?
Kate
Houston, TX
I believe that one of the mainly significant stuff in the car trade practice is the Houston Chevrolet Courtesy. This attitude is something you ought to be on the look out for at each car lot that you go to. I have gone to a lot of car lots in spite of their prices because of an easy of not having a Houston Chevrolet Courtesy.
This can be obvious in a lot more than a lone means. A single of them is a whole indifference on the part of the sales person to really put up for sale you the car. Where is the Houston Chevrolet courtesy at this point? An additional is a clue that the sales person is not saying the whole truth. You wait for an opportunity that the individual is attempting to advertise the car to obtain commission, clearly, however there is no motive for a sales person to out-and-out swindle and lie to you. You need to visit a Houston Texas Chevrolet dealer somewhere else.

Houston used car dealership
Reader question:
Where can I find a Houston used car dealership? I live on Ella, near 610.
Randy
Glad you asked.
Really, though, I am. I actually bought one of my cars from a Houston used car dealership right near there. It’s actually just a little further down 610, on Shepherd. All you have to do is go up 610, exit N Durham/Shepherd, take a right on Durham, fall it down until you get to 16th street, take a left, and another left once you get to Shepherd, and it’s not very far down. It’s called USA Auto Brokers.
The salespeople there are very niced, and I have to say that I probably spent the least amount of time there that I have ever had to spend at a Houton used car dealership. They got me done fast.
In addition to that, they will tow your car if it needs to be fixed, for free (the towing, not the fixing). What really helped me was that they were very understanding about payments. I have made payments a week late, two weeks late, even a month late and they were okay with it. No late charges or anything.
take care,

Houston cheap used cars
Reader question:
How far can I push the envelope on Houston cheap used cars as concerns age and gas mileage?
Jack
Interesting question.
You know, I once owned a car that was older than I was when I was in my twenties. Unless you’re collecting a vintage car, it’s not a good idea to push the envelope very far when it comes to age. Even if the car may look nice, unless you have the money, the time, and the skill to fix it up, there are very few–okay, probably zero–cars that are over 12 years old and can still function properly with the proper maintenance. The best range for Houston cheap used cars that are also quality cars is between 3 and 5 years old.
As for mileage, you should also keep that as low as possible, but most Houston cheap used cars are going to have at least over 20k. That’s find. You should just set your high point at around 150,000 miles and not go past there, because you’ll have problems operating it.
Granted, a car dealership can change what the odometer says to read like the car doesn’t have very many miles. If you get the vehicle history report, though, you can find the real number.
take care,
Fashun
